More than 100,000 downloads of the mobile training tool
Stuttgart, 24.04.2012 – Advertising agency hydra newmedia has developed a special training app for smartphones and tablet PCs for Sony. The Stuttgart-based e-learning specialists have been supporting Sony Mobile (previously Sony Ericsson) since 2007: hydra has now presented its first app for mobile product training. The interactive app is aimed at Sony Mobile retailers all over the world and is available in more than 20 languages.
What new possibilities do the latest Sony Xperia™ smartphones open up? What concrete benefits do they offer in day-to-day life? The app’s interactive product trainings provide the answers in an entertaining way, illustrated with plenty of interesting examples. The retailers are thus optimally prepared for the sales pitch. There are also brief demo clips that retailers can use to explain the product benefits to customers directly during the actual sales talk.
100,000 downloads in 12 weeks – that puts the app amongst the top 3% of the most-downloaded Android apps in the “Education” category (source: Appbrain). The 4-star rating also shows that the app is well received by retailers. The reasons?

Up until now, Sony has offered interactive product trainings only via the central retailer portal insider. The introduction of mobile trainings makes the portal even more attractive for dealers who can now use the tools as an app on smartphones and tablets as well. Both online and offline. And yet providing the trainings in mobile form requires minimal effort – thanks to optimised workflows and innovative tools.
What do the experts say? The first of these mobile product trainings recently won the Annual Multimedia Award 2012 in silver. At almost the same time, the training for the Xperia™ PLAY received the renowned iF communication design award.
The Sony insider Android App can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play and is regularly updated with the latest product infos.
